Train washing

When you wash trains, there are 2 washing processes which need to be taken into account: Alkaline washing (degreasing) and acidic washing (de-acidification).

The washing machine can be a drive-through train washing plant where the machine stands still and the train drives slowly through during the washing process – or the machine can be a roll over machine, where the train stands still and the machine runs back and forth as a traditional washing machine. Both machines can be equipped with an undercarriage wash, where the washing is alkaline as well as acidic. (The undercarriage is typically washed if the train is to be repaired or inspected.)
