The vet was impressed

It is not always easy to know where to turn for advice, but when Danish farmer Allan Roedkjaer’s cows suffered from chapped teats and Milker’s nodule virus, his vet gave him a piece of very good advice. He suggested that the problem was to be found in the cleaning of the teats, because when cleaning a dirty and dry teat you may easily provoke small wounds to occur – and it is not hard to imagine what will happen when the teat cup is later rubbing the teats.

Allan, therefore, began looking for a product that would clean the teats without damaging the delicate skin and eventually came across VIRA-FOAM from NOVADAN.

VIRA-FOAM is wonderfully effective. Once you have tried it, you don’t want to use anything else, says Allan. The vet was equally impressed when she visited him about a month after he started using VIRA-FOAM. Compared to other herds, she found the teats of Allan’s cows to be soft and in good condition, and she was convinced that VIRA-FOAM was the reason for this extraordinary improvement.

Kristian, Allan’s assistant, adds his words of praise:

There is never any doubt whether a teat is completely dry or sprayed with VIRA-FOAM! It feels as if less muscle power is required - it is simply so much easier to milk when the teat has been sprayed with VIRA-FOAM. That way, not only our cows benefit from VIRA-FOAM – so do we.

Allan has tested a number of teat dip products. But with that kind of product you dip dirty teats and move on to the next cow with a product that is no longer absolutely clean. Allan finds it much more hygienic to spray the teats directly with VIRA-FOAM and, furthermore, he is sure it provides better milk. With VIRA-FOAM, the teats are cleaner than before and the amount of spores in the milk is reduced – in other words better milk.
